Curious Works: Colony Website Animations - 2018

Colony is the story of one family line over thousands of years, told through various artistic productions linked by character, location, theme and story line and are being released over several years.

I made the animations for the character pages on the Colony website, giving a glimpse at the members of the colony line. I also animated the sky fish used to navigate the site.

All the drawings were done by Aimée Falzon. I took the images and prepared them for animation using Clip Studio. This consisted of separating the drawings into separate pngs, and sometimes colour correcting (such as making the fish white).

I then animated them using Adobe Animate and Adobe After Effects and added a paper texture. I used limited animation to maintain the integrity of the illustrations and give it the impression of moving storybook illustrations
